Note I am well aware that the current rumors surrounding Wiggins suggest that the Warriors would like to use his contract to get a replacement for Klay (Markkanen and Lavine have both been suggested). With that said, let’s be honest, the Warriors don’t have enough assets to get Markkanen and the Bulls would be foolish to sell Lavine for “pennies on the dollar.” This trade is a realistic option for the Warriors to try and improve their roster. For Golden State: it’s reported that they want off of Wiggins contract. This trade accomplishes that and helps with other issues. The starting SG position can easily be filled with sharp-shooter Max Strus. In addition to that, Kuminga can finally start at SF full time. On top of all of that, the Warriors are getting a competent bench PF in Georges Niang who is a career 40% shooter. Niang also brings a similar intensity to Draymond and would likely bring that energy off the bench. Overall, this is not a “home run” for …
